CBSE/UGC NET July 2018: What the Changes will be in the upcoming NET Examination?
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2018 at the official website of CBSE (cbsenet.nic.in). CBSE will conduct the next UGC - NET for Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor on 08th July , 201 8 (Sunday). As per the revised scheme.
The candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification available on the website http://cbsenet.nic.in from 01st February, 201 8. The candidates are required to apply online from 06th March , 201 8. The last date for applying online is 05th April , 2018 and fee can be paid up to 06th April , 201 8.
What the Changes will be in the upcoming NET Examination?
1. The test will consist of two papers (Paper-I , Paper-II) Total Marks- 100+200=300
- Paper - I shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks . The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper - II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate
Before it was three papers (Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III) Total Marks- 100+100+150=350
- Paper-I was common to all subjects
- Paper-II and Paper-II was based on the subject.
2. Examination Time limit has been reduced to 1 hour for paper-1 (50 Questions) before it was 1hour and 15 minutes. Paper-II also the same time limit 2 hours for 100 Questions before paper-II was 2 hours and 30minutes for 75 questions.
3. The upper age limit for appearing in JRF has also been raised by two years, i.e. from the existing upper age limit of 28 years to 30 years (the relaxation as earlier will remain same)
