EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT:

The candidates may pay the examination fee either by credit/ debit card or through e-challan  generated  during  the  online  filling  of  the  application  form.  In  case  of  e-challan  the  payment  should be  made  in  the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI Bank. 

In  case  the  examination  fee  is  paid  through  credit/debit  card  the  additional  processing  charges  as  following  will  also  be  debited from the credit/debit card of the candidate. Credit card:  - 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable. Debit Card:  - 0.75% of examination fee plus the service tax as applicable

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST:
i ) The  Test  will  consist  of  two papers.  Both  the papers  will    consist  of  only  objective  type  questions and will be held on  08 th July , 201 8 (SUNDAY) in two separate sessions as under:

First Session, Paper-I 100 Marks 50 questions  all  are  compulsory 1 Hour (09:30 A.M. to 10: 30 A.M.) IST

Second Session Paper-II 200 Marks 100 questions  all  are  compulsory  2  Hours (11: 00 A.M. to  0 1: 0 0 P.M.) IST

Paper - I  shall  consist  of  50  objective  type  compulsory  questions  each  carrying  2  marks.  The  questions  which  will  be of  general  nature,  intended  to  assess the  teaching/research  aptitude of  the  candidate. It  will primarily be designed to test reasoning abilit y, comprehension, divergent  thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper - II  shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which  will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

All the questions of Paper  – II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi of earlier Paper II &  Paper  – III  (including all electives, without options).

The  candidate  will  have  to  mark  the  responses  for questions  of  Paper – I  & Paper  – II on  the  Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the test booklet. The detailed instructions for filling up the OMR sheet are given on page 1 6 and 1 7 . It may  be  noted that  these  instructions to  candidates  will  not be  sent  to any  of  the  candidate  by  post.

Qualification & Experience- 
i. A Master’s degree in Library Science /  Information Science / Documentation  Science or an equivalent professional  degree  with at least 55% of the marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale  wherever grading system is followed )  with consistent good academic record.
ii. Qualifying in the national level test  conducted for the purpose by the UGC  or any other  agency by the UGC.
iii. However, candidates, who are, or have  been awarded Ph.D degree in  accordance with the University Grants  Commission (Minimum Standards and  procedure for award of Ph.D. degree),  Regulation 2009, shall be exempted  from the requirement of the minimum  eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET  for recruitment and appointment of  University Assistant Librarian/College  Librarian or Documentation Officer.
Additional Requirements: 
i. Good  written  and  oral  communication  skills in English.
ii. Sound    and  working    knowledge    of  application  of  Open  Source  Software  such     as     Dspace,     Koha,     Content  Management System (CMS), Reference  Management  Tools,  Relational  Database  Management  System  (RDBMS), HTML/CSS, etc.
iii. Minimum 5 years of work experience in  a  leading  national  level  research  and  academic institute or university.
iv. Good  Knowledge  of  bibliographic  data  conversion an MARC21

International Conference on "Marching Beyond the Libraries: Managerial Skills and Technological Competencies", scheduled to be held on 16th - 17th November 2018.

The 2018 International Conference on Marching Beyond the Libraries: Managerial Skills and Technological Competencies aims to focus on latest emerging technologies on how library and information professionals can explore and use the latest revelations of information technologies for effective and efficient management of their respective learning resource centres. There is a growing demand to manage the increasing flow of information both in and out of the library optimally, effectively and efficiently. In this context, managerial skills and technological competencies play the most significant role. Therefore, the conference intends to bring together students, LIS scholars, academicians and industry practitioners, library managers and administrators on a single platform to review the latest trends of technological competencies, leadership and managerial skills. The conference will also review the quality of work required by the library and information professionals for adopting, sustaining, and promoting the new technologies with constructive recommendations. The conference is expected to have wide participation of delegates from India and abroad.
There will be a half day work shop on the theme "Critical Thinking and Innovation". In this work shop participants will showcase their creativity towards future librarianship.
